This 360° viewpoint is located at the top of Mount Tzva’im (=gazelles, in Hebrew) to the north of Road 25 some 10km west to the Arava junction (Road 25 and 90). Getting here is recommended only with a good 4×4 vehicle, or simply by foot. It enables a spectacular view over the Judean Desert.
To the west the anticlines of the slopes of the southern Judean mountain are clearly visible, and to the east the majestic Dead Sea and beyond it: the mountains of Moab in the Kingdom of Jordan, towering to an elevation of 1,750m above sea level (more than 2,000m above the Dead Sea). Underneath us the valley called ‘Peres’ or ‘fares’ in Arabic, which means a widespread confined valley. The viewpoint overlooks an ancient road that led from the Dead Sea area to towards the cities of Arad and Be’er Sheva.
The point is named after the soldier Na’ama Kadmon, a skillful student, dancer and choreographer who was serving as an instructor and teacher. She was killed accidentally at the age of 19, in the valley nearby during an army maneuver when a boulder was detached above her and hit her head. The viewpoint commemorates her zealous approach – that the love of the country should be experienced through walking and experiencing its trails out in the wild.
